BlockCraftZone ("we," "us," or "our") is a professional Minecraft gaming network operated by StormGlass Interactive Inc., based in New York, USA. This Privacy Policy applies to the website blockcraftzone.com and all associated game servers, applications, and services (collectively, the "Services").

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account registration data (username, email address, password hash)
- Profile information (display name, avatar, bio)
- Payment information (processed securely via Stripe — we do not store card numbers)

- Tournament registration details

- IP address and approximate geographic location (country/region level)
- Device type, operating system, and browser information
- Game session data: server joined, time played, game mode, match results
- In-game actions and chat logs (used for moderation purposes)
- Log files and crash reports
2.3 Information from Third Parties
- If you sign in via Discord or Google OAuth, we receive your public profile data from those services
- Payment processors may share transaction status confirmations
We never purchase data about you from third-party data brokers. We collect only what we need to provide and improve the Services.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account and game profile
- Operate game servers, matchmaking, and leaderboard systems
- Process payments for premium memberships and tournament entries
- Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, purchase receipts)
- Send optional newsletters and event announcements (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- Enforce our Terms of Service and moderate in-game conduct
- Detect and prevent cheating, fraud, and abuse
- Improve server performance, fix bugs, and develop new features
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your data to make automated decisions that produce significant legal effects on you, or to build advertising profiles for third-party advertising networks.
4. SHARING YOUR INFORMATION
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
4.1 Service Providers
We use trusted third-party providers to operate our Services, including hosting (AWS), payment processing (Stripe), analytics (self-hosted Plausible), and email delivery (Postmark). These providers access data only to perform services on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect it.
4.2 Public Leaderboard Data
Your in-game username, rank, score, and game statistics are publicly displayed on our leaderboard. You may use a pseudonym — your real name is never required.
4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety and rights of our users, staff, or the public.
4.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on our website.
5. COOKIES & TRACKING
We use a minimal set of cookies:
- Session cookies — required for login and account functionality
- Preference cookies — remember your settings (theme, region, language)
- Analytics cookies — privacy-preserving, no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting
We do not use advertising cookies or allow third-party ad trackers on our site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not function correctly.
6. DATA RETENTION
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain records (e.g., payment records for 7 years under tax regulations).
In-game chat logs used for moderation are retained for 90 days. Anonymized aggregate gameplay statistics may be retained indefinitely.
7. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction — Request that we correct inaccurate data
- Deletion — Request deletion of your account and personal data
- Portability — Request your data in a machine-readable format

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Our Services are not directed at children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their data without parental consent, please contact us immediately at privacy@blockcraftzone.com and we will delete the information promptly.
9. SECURITY
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for data in transit, bcrypt password hashing, regular security audits, and strict access controls. However, no system is perfectly secure. In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users within 72 hours as required by applicable law.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email and/or by posting a prominent notice on our website at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
